## Short answer
Pest control software should connect recurring service and billing cadences, technician availability, route planning, treatment and chemical records, station history, customer communication, payments, compliance, and profitability in one customer and property history.

## Recurring service and billing are different clocks

A customer may be serviced monthly and billed quarterly, or serviced seasonally while paying on another cadence. Software should model those schedules independently, prevent duplicate first-cycle charges, pause billing when service stalls, and keep the customer informed.

## The field record matters

A completed pest stop should produce more than a status change.

- Products, EPA numbers, quantities, target pests, and application locations
- Bait-station scans, conditions, findings, and service history
- Tank mixes, SDS records, calibration logs, and required signatures
- Photos, notes, customer-facing reports, and approval rules
- Inventory usage connected to the technician, truck, and job

## Routing must respect the real day

Shortest distance is not enough. Evaluate appointment windows, access hours, technician shifts, PTO, service duration, pinned stops, in-progress work, recurring-customer preferences, and how new work is inserted without reshuffling the route.

## Evaluate the complete handoff

Test a lead becoming a recurring plan, a service being placed on a route, a technician completing a treatment record, an invoice being issued, a failed card entering recovery, and the customer viewing the plan in a portal. The strongest platform is the one that preserves context across every handoff.
